What we do
Four things done properly rather than thirty done quickly. Every cut finishes with a hot towel and a brush down.
Beard trim and shape
Trimmed to length, edged along the cheek and neck, finished with oil. Come in scruffy, leave looking deliberate.
Hot towel shave
Steamed towel, badger brush, straight razor. Twenty-five minutes of lying still while someone else does the work.
The shop itself
Cast iron chairs, a checked floor, and a mirror that has seen four generations of Bath haircuts. We kept the front room as our grandfathers ran it and spent the money on clippers and towels instead.
There is a bench by the window and a pot of tea going most of the morning. Nobody minds if you come in just to wait for a mate.
